Indonesia Family Network (IFN), one of Indonesian migrant worker union in Singapore, conducted a gathering in Toa Payoh National Park, Singapura (25/09/2011). This event, which was held in an open garden, participated by around 60 Indonesian migrant workers from across Singapore.

This annual event was organized by IFN in order to strengthen friendship bond between members. This event also facilitate members to discuss and evaluate IFN’s work planning as well as motivate each other on work.

“IFN is a domestic worker union which established on February 5, 2006 with the spirit of togetherness and social awareness. It was founded by several workers in order to help and support friends within network.” said Shelly Yanti (28), IFN activist from Madiun to Indonesian Migrant Workers Resource Center through social media interview.

According to Shelly, in order to support members who caught on problems, IFN provides helpline service for members. IFN also cooperate with Non Government Organisations/NGOs and actively engaged support from Singaporeans society. Aside of IFN, there is also several Indonesian migrant society which cooperate to each other, such as BMI Singapura, The Montel Singapura, HPLRT Singapura, and BNS (Bobotoh Nagara Singapura).

On this event, there are also several entertainment session, such as moslem fashion show contest and make up contest. Hopefully this event would tied a stronger bond among IFN’s member.
