An Indonesian migrant worker in Singapore died, presumably fallen from Level 9 of Block 801 Woodlands Street 81. This accident happened on 6:20 am Singapore local time while the worker was trying to clean apartment windows. This issue drawn a deep concern of Humanitarian Organitation for Migrantion Economics (Home) Singapore to diminish this kind of hazardous activity.
Indonesian migrants whose name unknown, wasn’t alone at that time. Two of her employer’s children were there and shocked then. This worker has just worked for approximately 5 months. However, her employer still remain silent and refuse to give any statement regarding her death. Police authorities still conduct investigation about this case.
“We’d better don’t get our mind blank while working, this situation may distract our concentration and may be dangerous as Singapore’s apartment are mostly tall. You can try listening to music while working to avoid drowsiness, use a long cleaning tool and avoid to get on the chair even nod your body outside the window. Imagine how dangerous it could be if we fall from a tall apartment,” said Nunung Hartati, migrant from Cilacap who work at 15 level apartment.
If the process of collecting petition to banned workers to clean window at high level hasn’t drawn attention from Indonesian Embassy in Singapore, so what are they waiting? Indonesian Embassy shall act immediately in order to overcome this problem before there will be another victim.

Indonesian agency should also oblige to train each worker about safety regulation at work for housemaid migrant, in particular who are about to work in Singapore.
