Laws in Hong Kong Were Trampled by Agencies and PPTKIS

Many people know that laws in Hong Kong are extremely firm and do not differentiate anyone, whether they are governmental officers, common people, or foreigners, if they have proved guilty then they will be sentenced according to what mistakes they have done. However, what makes them strange, whether it is done on purpose or because there has been an agreement between the Hong Kong party and the Indonesian party handling labour areas (in this case Indonesian Migrant Workers), they unreservedly have trampled the laws existing in Hong Kong.

For instance, the salary of the domestic workers in Hong Kong, the regulation upon the salary of the domestic workers is as much as HK$ 3740 or similar to Rp 4,400,000, but due to the agencies of the domestic workers in Hong Kong (which, of course, have made an agreement with the PPTKIS/PJTKI in Indonesia), most domestic workers will receive their salary only as much as HK$ 1800-2000. More seriously, for the case of tha BMI candidates having no experience working overseas, they must have been underpaid, which is HK$ 1800-2000.

The second example is that the matters concerning about the right to have holiday. The government of Hong Kong provides the right to have holiday for the domestic workers once in a week, national holidays, and annual leave. However, the findings show that there are many Indonesian domestic workers who remain having either no holiday or any substitution payment which they do not receive at all. Obviously, it is because both of the masters and the agencies who do not give the domestic workers the rights.

The third example, the government of Hong Kong only set 10% cut of the one month-salary or as much as HK$ 374. However for the Indonesian Migrant Workers, they will have their salary cut as much as HK$ 21, 000 which is the same as Rp 24.780.000. These are the real examples felt and encountered by BMIs in Hong Kong now. Unfortunately, the party from the Indonesian Consulate General (KJRI) selaku as the representatives for Indonesian government in Hong Kong seems ignoring such issues.
