Agus K Hadi, activist of Asosiasi Tenaga Kerja Indonesia/Association for Indonesian Migrants Worker in Lombok (ATKI-Lombok) during focus group discussion of migrant workers union consolidation meeting which was facilitated by INDIES (30/11/11) shared about his working experience on one of migrants private company agents.

During work at the company agent, Hadi has a task to pick the newbie to be promoted as migrant worker also to offers the refused migrant-to-be to other company agent in Jakarta.

“I was also assigned to translate documents to Arabic and conduct a selection for migrants according to their appearance. Those who don’t meet the criteria will be immediately sent to other company agent,” said Agus K Hadi during focus group discussion of migrant workers union consolidation meeting which was facilitated by INDIES which took place at Wisma Hijau Jakarta.

Hadi also witnessed the puzzled replacement and human trafficking as a common things which happens in a business of a migrants company agents.

During his 3 months duration of work on, Hadi said that documents counterfeiting also ever happens and conduct by the company.
