Proses pembuatan paspor bisa dilakukan dalam satu hari karena hanya dilakukan pengambilan foto tanpa ada proses pengambilan sidik jari dan biometrik. Data paspor juga tidak secara online dikirim ke Pusat Data Keimigrasian (PUSDAKIM). Sejak akhir tahun 2014, KJRI Johor Bahru secara resmi menggunakan aplikasi Sistem Informasi Manajemen Keimigrasian (SIMKIM) dalam pembuatan paspor.
